Paint Night —
This evening, the art teacher in my school and I hosted a paint night for parents and students. She did all the hard work, I just showed up. It was an opportunity for the parents to come into the school and do something fun and have a positive experience both in the school and with their child. We had three mother-son pairs attend. Two of the boys did not come willingly. But after mixing paint, using different brushes, painting water and dolphins, and watching their moms having fun and trying something new, in a light they probably don’t get to see too often, all three boys admitted they really did enjoy the evening. The mom’s all liked it too. I’m thankful for my friend and colleague for doing such a great job, and I’m thankful for getting the chance to help three moms have a nice night out with their middle school aged sons.
Today’s joy is the joy bring people together.
