All the pretty little flowers —
Today I went over my parents house and walked around the backyard with the dog. She and I walked to the edges of the backyard to check out all the plants that had sprung pastels and all the new smells. We saw the pear tree’s white cuplike blossoms, the bright yellow daffodils and forsythia sun bursts, and the tiny but plentiful royal purple petals of the hyacinth. While the dog enjoyed sniffing the air and pushing her nose through the dirt, I took in all the beauty of a blooming spring evening.
Today’s joy is the joy of spring flowers.
